Reggae/Dancehall Artiste Donnaro Di Great Boss

Spanish Town born reggae/dancehall artiste Donaro Stanford, better known as Donnaro or Great Boss is creating a buzz on the dancehall scene with his unique sound and multiple songs, including his new release “Dawgs Dem Relevant” on Raise the Bar Riddim, produced by Believe Production…Payday Music.

Donnaro started his professional career as a reggae/dancehall singer at age 20, following the footsteps of his older brother, who passed on before manifesting his dream to become an influential artiste.

The singer has been faced with many obstacles in his life, not only by losing a brother who was a talented family member, but also the loss of his mother at age 13. He didn’t let all this deter his intentions to pursue his dreams of becoming a hit maker in the music industry.

Donnaro has high regard for Michael Jackson and Bob Marley for their Dominance and impact in their respective genre. He also likes to listen to Jay-Z, Bounty killer and Movado from whom he gets some level of inspiration.

He was motivated in his teens to write his own lyrics, this earned him the respect of many artistes, such as Bounty Killer, who gave him the thumbs up and told him that he has the potential to make it really big.

Since his decision to push the music on a serious level, he has recorded for producers Cash Flow Records, Payday Music, House of Stars, Cash Global Records, Believe Records, to name a few.

His songs “No other way”, “Get Mi Break” and “Dawgs Dem Relevant” are receiving good rotation on radio stations in Jamaica and creating a buzz on social media. Especially “Dawgs Dem Relevant”, which fans of Masika and Alkaline think is a ‘diss’ to their artistes by counteracting their Dawg songs. To this Donnaro says, “In truth I had my song before the Masika and Vibes Kartel Dawg song.”

Donnaro had performed at Agent Sasco’s album launch, Stone Love’s Anniversary, Portmore Jamboree, Portmore awards and other events. Look out for him on the Dancing Dynamite all island tour, Manchester Fiesta and other local events before the end of 2017.

He is truly dedicated to the task of being a force to reckon with in the industry, as such he puts in the hard work to write and record his songs. However Donnaro is compelled to speak about the struggles in the industry and says, “The music industry got many challenges especially as an unknown artiste. Radio disc jocks and sound man refuse to give you a chance. In most cases you have to be very determine and continue working hard until meeting a good producer, who has both cash to invest and good relationship with the necessary persons needed to get your music established for people to recognize your talent.”

Donnaro’s fans can expect new releases soon by international producers in the USA and Canada. He is also working on collaboration with a UK artiste to be released by mid November. Canadians maybe in for at treat as Donnaro is currently in dialog about an album compilation riddim driven tour in Canada for a project in December.
