Introducing Reggae Singer Bugzy Anderson

Shaun Anderson, better known as Bugzy Anderson was born on October 15, 1984 in Bamboo St. Ann’s Bay. Bugzy began performing at a tender age while a student at Mico Practicing All Age School in 1991.

Moving on to St. George’s College, in 1997, Bugzy was very active in performing arts, particularly choir, band and drama. This involvement in the arts led him to be chosen as part of a delegation that represented Jamaica at PANAFEST (Pan American Festival), held in Accra Ghana, West Africa in 2001.

Bugzy became a member of L’acadco a United Caribbean Dance Force in 2001 through to 2007, performing locally and internationally. Considered fortunate, at just sixteen years of age Bugzy was introduced to the late Phillip Linton of Arrow Studio, located on Windward Road Kingston 2. While at Arrows, Bugzy was introduced to saxophonist and producer Dean Fraser.

In 2008 Bugzy was chosen to be one of the song writers for Luciano’s “Jah Is My Navigator” album, writing the song “For I” track 1.

In 2015 Bugzy was amidst a group of musicians gathered from Jamaica to Cuba to record the historical album “Havana Meets Kingston” at the famous “Egrem Studios” in Havana. Some of these musicians were Sly and Robbie, Changuito, Bungo Herman, Leroy Sibbles, Solis and Sizzla Kalonji to name a few. This project allowed Bugzy to participate as a singer and songwriter, background vocalist, percussionist, and dancer in a few of the video projects.

Today Bugzy is finalizing his EPK for release soon and is presently promoting his debut single “Through Fire” which was produced by Lastar Music and is now out on all digital platforms.
