Reggae Singer and Producer Ambushkah/Baddiz
Greg Bryan, professionally known as Ambushkah/Baddiz is a Reggae Artiste who is currently based in Birmingham, United Kingdom where he focuses on producing entertaining and top quality music to share with the world.
The artiste hails from Duncan’s Pen, Spanish Town, Jamaica and has been singing professionally since 2012. He realized his passion for music since childhood and was always sing. “It’s something I’ve always wanted and loved doing. I have that burning desire since childhood,” says Baddiz.
Though the artiste got little or no encouragement from his relatives to pursue his music career, his passion for music and inspiration from singers such as Peter Tosh, Dennis Brown, Beres Hammond, Bob Marley and Burning Spare honed his musical style and led him to start writing and recording his lyrics.
The multitalented “roots rock” reggae and dancehall singer also plays the drums and produces most of his songs on his own Baddiz Records label. His catalogue includes: We No Need It, Am Sailing, Jah Jah prophet, My Heart, See These Things and more. He has worked with other producers such as Noel Browne.
Baddiz is usually all up in his elements when he is on stage performing for the masses. He has performed in his home country Jamaica at major events such as the GT Taylor Christmas Extravaganza show. In the United Kingdom he has done numerous events, sharing stage with renowned reggae artiste Bushman in Bristol and made an appearance at the 2016 Simmer Down Festival in Birmingham.
The artiste shares that his ability to perform well physically and mentally at events is due to early morning running, playing football and swimming and regular rehearsals. He expresses that it is important to balance his music career with other obligations such as attending his day job, rehearsal in the evenings, studio and writing by night. “When it’s time to perform I drop everything and focus solely on performance and songs delivery,” he says.
Baddiz is not distracted by the challenges he faces in the music industry, especially when it comes to criminal activities, however he encourages beginners and persons planning to start a music career to copyright everything they write; to have a business mindset and not to sign away their royalties.
He is determined to continue giving his fans albums after albums, videos after videos and a lot of live performances to keep up his acting career (more about his acting career in subsequent features.)
