Messieh Calls for Unity in the Community
UK based Reggae artiste Messieh has added his voice to the growing cry for peace that’s echoing across the nation.
The humble Rastafarian entertainer who hails from the community of Mount Salem in Montego Bay is currently promoting a single titled Unity in the Community which was recently released on the Life Valley Entertainment imprint.
“I’m perturbed about what’s happening in Montego Bay and other areas in Jamaica. My song is a call for peace we need to bring back the unity in our communities” he said.
Mount Salem was the first community to be declared a Zone of Special Operations under a new crime-fighting initiative which was launched by the Jamaican government last year.
Messieh is also working to bring about a positive change in Mount Salem through the Mandingo Youth Club.
“Working with the youth club we’ve conducted a lot of activities in the community to help the young people in the area. We have also partnered with other organisations to carry out our mission. Two months ago a UK based organisation called the Mek Ah Step Volunteer Creative Arts Program was here working along with us in the community,” said Messieh.
Messieh recently visited the island for a round of promotions which included interviews at RJR 94FM, HITZ 92 FM and NEWSTALK 93 FM. During his visit, he also shot a video for Unity in the Community which is scheduled to be released before the end of February.
Messieh given name (Sanjay Thomas) launched his recording career in 2012 with the release of a 14 track album titled Revolution Time on the Life Valley Entertainment label.
