Dancehall Artiste Jubba Dan
Jamaica has a new star on the rise! The ‘Bottle Pon Bottle’ artiste whose given name at birth is Jonhi Facey and popularly known as Jubba Dan is destined for greatness as a dancehall artiste.
Jubba Dan is originally from Spanish Town, St. Catherine, but migrated to Linstead in the same parish in pursuit of fulfilling his dream, which is to develop his musical skills and start recording his distinctive style of music.
He has always known that he has the ability to do good music; that coupled with his love for music on a whole ignited his enthusiasm, hence his decision to start doing it professionally in 2016.
The support he receives from his family has propelled him in the direction he wanted to take. For this he is grateful and shares that “My family is my first promoter, they love my music and wanted everybody in the community to hear it.”
One could say he is from a musical family. Though they didn’t go public with their talent as Jubba Dan is now doing, his mother is a vocalist, his older brother was a great musician before he passed and another of his brothers is a local deejay. He also says that his sisters can sing, “So yes my family is musical.”
Jubba Dan’s musical style was influenced by diverse artistes, but his favourite are Chronixx and Vybz Kartel, whom he make a difference where music is concerned.
The dancehall artiste is working with producer Orrett Slingshot Neil of Slingshot Records Jamaica to put out hot new singles. He is taking his time to get things right as a new artiste in the business, as he too wants to have an impact in the dancehall arena.
He already has some hot singles that are ready for the road and already in circulation. They include ‘Good Book’, ‘Suh Wi Stay’, ‘Militancy’, ‘Naah Stoop’, ‘Hot Like Hell’ and ‘Bottle Pon Bottle’, just to name a few.
Jubba Dan recorded his first colab with J. Cyrus, another new artiste on the rise titled ‘Melody’ and intends to do other collaborations, preferably with Chronixx, Vybz Kartel, Alkaline, Gage, Tommy Lee Sparta, Aidonia, Masika, Bounty Killa and Dexta Daps.
He already has a good fan base which is steadily increasing, especially on social media. Whenever he is in the studio working on new tracks his fans are always on his mind and this drives him to produce more and more hot tracks for them, and promises that whenever they see him on a show they are guaranteed to get their money’s worth.
