February 26, 1985 was an exceptional day in the lives of Patricia Clarke and Donald Williams. They gave birth to a star that was predestinated to impact the world through music.

They named the star Donald Akeal Williams; however, the world will know him as Ray Z, a man who was born to unleash the message love of all forms that is embedded in his soul in a cultural but entertaining fashion.

Ray Z was born in Kingston, Jamaica where he spent most of his childhood life listening to various artistes and musicians; some of whom inspired him to hone his own musical talent. Some of these artistes are Teflon, Richie Spice, Bob Marley, Beres Hammond, Gregory Isaacs, Ninja Man, Capleton, Sizzla, Beenie Man, Buju Banton, Junior Reid, Sanchez and Wayne Wonder.

His passion for music was identified when he was a child, as he was always singing, especially for his friends at Hillside Primary, Islington High, Muschette High and Oracabessa High, where he was educated.

Ray Z is an all round entertainer; he is entertaining in every way, shape and form. His relatives, friends and others who are blessed to be in his company best describe him as a people person who is very jovial. It is no surprise that he is a people person, who is always trying to motivate and entertain others, as he is blessed with twenty-eight (28) siblings, most of who are his father’s children. He is also a father of two (2) wonderful children and plays a vital role in positively nurturing and culturing them.

Though his music career began when he was a teenager, he is a professional network marketer and was once employed in that position, however that isn’t what stirs his heart so he left that world to fulfill his dream. The dream of making music to motivate, inspire and entertain the masses.

As a musician/artiste Ray Z loves music of all genres, but his love for reggae and dancehall takes precedence over all other genres and so this is the music that he writes and records. Ray Z started working with producers to record his songs from he was a teenager. He has worked with producers such as; G3r Production, Flexrich Production, One Nation, Afro Jam Production, Double Lion Production, Most Wanted Records, Caribbean Westside and Kenard Records.

His catalogue of songs includes; We Got Money for Life, Smoke D Weed, Wine Wine Up Yuh Body, Nuh Mus Ray Z, Love Yuh Mad, Wuk Dem Hard, Gal Dem Call, Real Hot Gyal, One Night and much more. His latest “One Night” was recorded for Kenard Records and is doing well locally and internationally. In late 2016 the team produced the music video for “One Night” which is gaining popularity as is observed based on reports from various online network sources in early 2017.
Ray Z loves interacting with his fans and makes use of every opportunity to perform live to an audience. He has performed at various events such as, St. Mary Link Up, Hitch 2, Westmoreland Curry Festival, Westmoreland Kite Festival, Appleton Road Show, Jamaica Cultural Development Commission (JCDC) Road Show, St. Mary TV Launch and many more.

His desire is to continue writing, recording and performing songs that will bring joy to his fans and others who will appreciate his contribution to the music industry. Moving forward he wants to take things to a level where his critics, family, friends and especially fans can look up to him as their role model.

The sky is the limit and he is very much aware of this, so touring the world and performing his music to the limit is his greatest desire. His motivators Bounty Killer, Jimmy Cliff, Bob Marley, Shaggy and Shabba Ranks are among many who have taken reggae music to the four corners of the world and this is also his aim. So look out for Ray Z’s music in recorded form; music videos; or on a stage near you!!!

“One love and more reggae/dancehall music powers to my fans and well-wishers.” ~ RAY Z
